August 3, 2021
On July 21st, Mollie and Tyler finally got to host the wedding celebration they’d been planning for almost three years. It was August 2019 when Mollie and Tyler asked me to photograph their wedding and to say I was honored would be an understatement. They were going to be the second ever wedding I’d ever photograph. After COVID-19 hit and they were forced to postpone their big day they were hit with another surprise. That surprise and ultimate blessing was the birth of their adorable daughter Sophie. In anticipation of her birth, they tied the knot in December of 2020 in Downtown Warrenton, Virginia with Ciao Bella Celebrations.
However, the celebrating was far from over. They had the most beautiful summer wedding at the incredible Riverside on the Potomac located in Leesburg, Virginia.
I admit that photograph charms of family members that have passed on bouquets will always bring me to tears, but this one took things to another level when you see another special tribute later on. Prepare yourself with some tissues!
Mollie, you are absolutely stunning inside and out. Sophie is so lucky to have such a strong, joyful, and beautiful Momma like you. After watching you and your Mom interact, it’s safe to say you have an incredible bond. I hope and pray we get to remake some of these photos of you with Sophie one day (far, far away though)!
See what I mean?! She is simply adorable.
Tyler and his groomsmen were very rarely without smiles on their faces. Their love, support, and joy for Tyler was so evident.
Speaking of something that will bring you to tears…This first look was everything I could’ve dreamt it to be. These three are such a beautiful family.
There are two versions of how they met and I’m going to do my best to combine both Mollie and Tyler’s version. One cold evening in March, these two both found themselves in a long line at Mr. Mikes in Burlington, Vermont. Mollie was up in Vermont visiting family and allowed a guy friend from college to come up with her. Well, Mollie wasn’t crazy about being anything more than friends with this guy and wanted the weekend to be over sooner rather than later. Mollie and said guy friend went to get pizza one evening and for the first time all night he left her side while she waited in line. Not long after, she tapped on the shoulder of the guy in front of her. That tap led to a conversation full of laughter, Tyler buying her pizza, and asking her on a date (even though she lived in Virginia) all before the guy friend returned from the bathroom. The rest is history!
You were warned…This top hat is the same one Mollie’s grandfather wore in the picture charm attached to her bouquet. I did everything in my power to keep it together when Mollie’s sweet grandmother put her hand on it. His presence was most certainly missed, but most definitely remembered.
Cheers to Mr. and Mrs. Griswold!
